2024 GRANT APPLICATION PERIOD CLOSED
2024 GRANT APPLICATION PERIOD CLOSED
I created this special grant program in honor of my mom, Dorothy Rector Adams. She is the most kind, generous and loving person I know, even more so during the holiday season. Both she and my dad, the late John Douglas Adams, instilled in our entire family the importance and blessing of providing our time, talents and treasures to those in need.
The grant's chosen foundations hold a special place in my heart. Each annual $10,000 grant shall be awarded to an organization serving Hillsborough and/or Sarasota counties addressing food insecurity, veteran well-being, families in crisis or developmentally challenged individuals. A minimum of $100,000 will be awarded over a 10-year period.

Our fourth recipient of the Dorothy R. Adams Charitable Fund Grant is Forty Carrots, based in Sarasota. The $10,000 award will fund 40 therapy sessions for children and families who have been exposed to domestic violence and are unable to pay for the service.
Our third recipient of the Dorothy R. Adams Charitable Fund Grant is Action Zone, based in Hillsborough County. The volunteer-led organization helps Veterans and other military personnel build businesses. The $10,000 award will fund consultancy grant-writing services to further continue the mission.
